STEAMworks will offer a range of workshops and events in partnership with other like-minded organisations and partners, bringing the Lithgow Valley community together.

Here’s a sample of a few events the STEAMworks team are planning: 

Community Science Workshops

A multi-week program where primary school and early high school students conduct their own experiment based on local project/knowledge to learn about the scientific method, recording data. Includes a “field-day” where students invite family members/community to participate in collecting data from their local area.

STEAMworks Science Fair

A fair showcasing STEAM ideas, products and events from the region including presentations, installations, workshops, kids’ activities, and music. 

STEAM Art Installations across the Lithgow Valley region

Fostering a partnership between local artists and knowledge holders, STEAMworks will facilitate a series of science themed public artworks to be installed across the region. 

STEAM activities at The Foundations Night Markets 

Create and host a regular STEAM Tent at the already successful Foundations Night Markets. Create a space for local STEAM Groups (i.e., business, education, academia) to host a stall to promote their work, along with STEAM workshop/childcare and a performance/installation from a local STEAM practitioner.
